About this product

Hull Anode

About this Hull anode

This zinc hull anode provides reliable cathodic protection for steel hulls and other submerged metal components. The anode corrodes in place of the protected structure, helping to reduce damage caused by galvanic corrosion in seawater and brackish water. Its compact, conical design makes it suitable for installation in locations where space is limited. The central mounting hole allows the anode to be securely bolted onto the hull or directly onto the component requiring protection. For optimum performance, the anode must maintain good electrical contact with the protected metal surface.

Monitoring systems

Choosing the right anode material

The performance of a hull anode largely depends on the material from which it is manufactured. Zinc, aluminium and magnesium each have different electrochemical properties and are suited to specific water conditions.

  • Zinc anodes are commonly used in salt water environments
  • Aluminium anodes provide long-lasting protection in salt and brackish water
  • Magnesium anodes are generally recommended for fresh water applications

ABOUT THE INSPECTIONS

Info about type of water (Salt water)

Salt water has a high electrical conductivity, which increases the risk of galvanic corrosion on steel hulls and submerged metal components. Hull anodes are designed to corrode instead of the protected structure, helping to extend the service life of the vessel. Zinc and aluminium anodes are commonly used in marine environments because they provide reliable and continuous protection in salt water.

  • Effective protection for steel and aluminium hulls in marine environments
  • Reduces galvanic corrosion on submerged metal components
  • Combined service for both attraction inspections and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

Monitoring systems

Manufactured in our own foundry

Our hull anodes are manufactured in a specialised foundry using carefully selected metal alloys. By controlling the entire casting process, from raw material selection to final inspection, we can ensure consistent quality, accurate dimensions and reliable electrochemical performance.

Each anode is produced according to defined specifications and checked before delivery. This controlled production process results in a durable product with uniform consumption, dependable performance and a reliable fit during installation.
